Other acceptable specimens:
Plasma
Draw blood in a yellow-top (ACD) or lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s). Spin down and transfer 1 mL ACD or EDTA plasma into a plastic, screw-top vial . Send specimen refrigerated.
Serum
Draw blood in a plain, red-top tube(s). Serum gel tube is acceptable. Spin down and send 1 mL of serum refrigerated
in plastic vial.
CSF
Collect in a sterile container 1 mL and ship refrigerated.
BAL
Collect in a sterile container and ship refrigerated.
Sputum
Collect in a sterile container and ship refrigerated.
Urine
Collect in a sterile container 1 mL and ship refrigerated.
Blood
Draw blood in a lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s) or yellow-top (ACD) tube(s) and send 5 mL whole blood refrigerated (DO NOT FREEZE).
Bone Marrow
Draw bone marrow in a lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s) or yellow-top (ACD) tube(s) and send 5 mL bone marrow refrigerated. (DO NOT FREEZE).
