                                                ≥ 1:8  Antibody detected

    

Titers ≥ 1:8 suggest either gonococcal infection or asymptomatic colonization.  Antibodies recognizing Neisseria gonorrhoeae are apparently unprotective, since reinfection frequently occurs.
