Submit only 1 of the following specimens:

 

Specimen Type: Serum

Collection Container/Tube: Red top

Submission Container/Tube: Plastic vial

Specimen Volume: 5 mL

Collection Instructions:

1. Draw blood in a plain, red-top tube(s). Serum gel tube is not acceptable.

2. Centrifuge and freeze immediately. Send 5 mL of serum frozen in a plastic, preservative-free vial.

3. Label specimen appropriately (serum).

Preferred: Lavender-top EDTA)

Acceptable: Green-top (Heparin)

Submission Container/Tube: Plastic vial

Specimen Volume: 5 mL

Collection Instructions:

1. Draw blood in a lavender-top (EDTA) or green-top (Heparin) tube(s). Plasma gel tube is not acceptable.

2. Centrifuge and freeze immediately. Send 5 mL of plasma frozen in a preservative-free plastic vial.

3. Label specimen appropriately (plasma).
