Clinical Information

T-cell receptor delta expression is seen in a small proportion of total T cells. Recognition of T-cell lymphomas that are derived from the delta T-cell subset is important as they often have a more aggressive clinical behavior. Normal tonsils show scattered cells staining in the interfollicular regions.

Cautions

Age of a cut paraffin section can affect immunoreactivity. Stability thresholds vary widely among published literature and are antigen-dependent. Best practice is for paraffin sections to be cut within 6 weeks.
